It was reported yesterday that a 3lb Sea Trout was caught in the River Thames from a mark close to where I live in Barnes. Taken on a trotted maggot in the margins at low tide in the evening as the sun was setting, this gives me great hope that these bars of silver will continue to thrive in this main artery of our land.
As now is the time when Sea Trout seem to run from the sea I will venture out this evening to see if I can tempt one on the fly.
