With the Efgeeco box full to the brim with all that one would need to a full day out on the Itchen I’m still at the computer doing my last bits of admin so I can escape the district of SW13 and head with god speed to SO18.
Late this afternoon Eddie and I headed to the bait shop in Twickenham to buy a couple of pints of our wriggly friends for tomorrows outing. Like young boys in anticipation our spirits were high as we looked forward to a day away from all the strains of life to fish the beautiful River Itchen. The river twists and turns as it heads South, Sloe Bridge, Sleeper Road,New Bridge,The Cliffs,Kingfisher, Brighton Pier down to Double Gate. The beats below this point are now closed as the salmon are on the run.
Armed with a B James Kennet Perfection, a Hardy Conquest and a Diawa Leger rod so we have most angles covered. Eddie as purchased a couple of herring from Waitrose for dead baiting for pike, so tomorrow will be a full day until dusk.
I will take the big camera with me in order to capture the day, so look out on Sunday for the results of our endeavours. Not to say that a pint or two of Ringwood Beer will be in order or as I’m driving a lime and soda!
