In time-honoured form across the land there will be formal gatherings of scholars and informal meetings of friends who will celebrate with a Burns Night Supper which includes the eating of a traditional Scottish meal of Haggis or a haunch of venison, the drinking of Scotch Whisky and the reading of words by Burns.
