An Album Of Sea Fishes

An Album Of Sea Fishes

Whilst browsing at a car boot last weekend I noticed an album of Sea Fishes issued by John Player & Sons and originaly priced at one penny, clearly inflation had bumped up the price but it was offered with a job lot of floats, swivels, plugs and a cane rod that was in need of restoration.

Having thumbed through this publication I noted that one fish was clearly missing, the Sea Bass but also noted the inclusion of the Tunny, the narrative clearly detailed that during the months of July, August and September that good sport was to be had in the North Sea off Whitby. One can only assume that Tunny were a more sort after game fish than Bass which we prize today.

Enjoy this sixth day of Advent.
