As the rain pours down for yet another day from a grey sky I can’t help humming that tune, ‘I Can’t Stand The Rain Against My Window’ performed by Eruption in 1978 and then again covered by Tina Turner.
This amount of rain will put pay to any thoughts of heading to The Creek in search of an autumn barbel from a swim in a sweeping bend. The water will now be heavily coloured and running like the LNER Flying Scotsman under full steam.
The Environment Agency has still got 73 flood warnings for rivers, so with most rivers in spate little fishing will be done across the country. Fishing in the pouring rain isn’t my cup of tea especially if you have to set out and endure it all day. See http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk for updates
